Formal and Informal Language

Formal is times when rules and politeness need to be followed, and informal is times when rules and politeness don't have to be followed.

Formal language is when someone uses appropriate language, for example "greetings" and "hello" is using formal language.

Informal language is when people strange words. For example "gonna", "sup" and other words that are abbreviations.

Sometimes formal situations are like informal. For example a meet at the park.

Informal and formal help people know when to use the correct language and use it in the right situation.
