Questioning

I learnt about questioning. Questioning is asking for more information.

For the question, "What are the rules for the test?" I found it right there in the text. I looked on page one for the answer.

I found the think and search question ("What does Bran think of Mara?") on page 4. This is a think and search question because I had to search for the answer.

I found the author and me question: "How does Bran feel when Mara is considering weather to help him?" on page 4 as well. I used my prior knowledge for this question because the answer is not in the book.

For the on my own for the question: "What genre is this story?" I came up with my own answer because it was not in the text.

I really enjoyed reading this book.

Maths

Fraction are equal parts cut from a whole object. There proper, improper, and mixed number fractions.

The denominator is bigger and the numerator is smaller. Mixed number fractions are a whole and fraction. For example 1 and 2/3. Improper fractions are fractions that are not suitable and have the denominator less than the numerator.

You can convert each fraction into a decimal representation by dividing the numerator by the denominator. For example I have 7/10, 7 ÷ 10 =0.7 this means the decimal representation.

Volume And Capacity

Volume is how much space inside a object. Capacity means how much liquid an object can hold. The standard forms of measuring is Millimetres (mm) and Liters (LT).

Estimation is trying to guess Something. Estimation is using your prior knowledge to guess what the number was.

To convert ml to L you can divide by 1000. To convert L to ml multiply by 1000.

Kiwisport

A set is a technique in volleyball.

To set a ball first put one leg in the front and the other one behind so you can get ready to bend your knees.

Next bend your elbow and put your hands above your hair so you can get ready to hit the ball.

Then bend the knees so you can get ready to put your knees straight. Then hit the ball with your hands.

Finally you can hit the ball.

A set is used in one sport called volleyball.

Aboriginal Art

The past 2 weeks we started our aboriginal art.

We used paint, chalk, and earbuds to create our art. We watched a video called how a kangaroo got it's pouch. We could chose anyway how to paint, we could do dot painting or lines.

We had to paint a story about the Kangaroo and the wombat. The story was mostly about the Kangaroo and the wombat. I put lots of different types of symbols.

There was the sun, the star, and the hand. We had to do our real art on black paper and do our practice one on white paper.

On the white paper we did symbols but on the black paper we started our aboriginal art. I
did the fish.

My story was about the Wombat and the kangaroo going to the small Kangaroo. The small Kangaroo was in the tree.

I enjoined doing aboriginal art.

L.I to create art that tells a story using traditional methods.

Light And Sound

In our inquiry we learnt about light and sound.

Sound is the vibrations that can be heard form someone. Light is power that makes things visible.

The first activity we did was vocabulary. We connected the meaning to the right word.

Our second activity was to find draw, animate and act. We had to find photos of the word like vibrate. Vibrate means shaking your body. For act we made videos. For find we did our four words and added the photos. For draw we drew Vibration, sound wave, reflect and echo.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt new facts.

L.I  To learn the vocabulary of light and sound.

Predictions

Predictions means whats going happen next. The book I read was Grandparents day. The link for the book is here.

One prediction was that Granny didn't clean the whole house by her self because she asked the kids for help. This prediction was incorrect.

The second prediction was that Granny didn't go for a walk because she needed to buy the muffins from the bakery. This prediction was incorrect.

My predictions were pretty good. I only got 2 right out of 3.

Verbs

Measurement-Weight

Weight is something  that is heavy. The standard forms of measuring weight are tonnes (T), kilograms (kg) and grams (g). To measure these thing people use scales or balance scale.

Estimating is trying to guess the amount of something. To convert kilograms to tones divide the number by one thousand.

If the measurement is 18 kg, then divide by one thousand the numbers shift to right.

L.I To explore standard forms of weight.

Plurals

Plurals is more than one thing.

There are words that have es or s at the end because there is more than one thing.

Some nouns have an s at the end to make it plural. However, if a noun ends with a y people change it to an I and add es to the end. For example bunnies.

If a noun ends with f or fe then people often change it to v or ve. For example wolf wolves.

Properties Of Light

Light is something that can shine in the dark.

The first property is opaque things block light.

The second property was the light reflects where the angle of the mirror is.

The third property was light can go through transparent things.

There are more properties on the DLO.

L.I To observe properties of light.
