Optical illusion

For this activity we made our optical illusions.

I watched a video on how to draw a optical illusion.

My shape I used for my optical illusion was a triangle. How I made my optical illusion is that I made ten straight lines. After drawing the ten lines I shaded the lines.

I think this is my favourite task lately.

Fish False Teeth

For the summer learning journey we did a activity called fishy false teeth.

First we watched a video. After read an article about two friends on a boat talking to each other. I made a comic strip about two friends having a conversation over who can fish.

I enjoyed making the comic strip because I got to choose what they said.

Commenting

Today I decided to comment on Riley's blog from room 5. The question I asked was "When playing touch is it hard.

I really enjoyed reading Riley's blog post.

I enjoyed using open and close awards.

Summer Learning Journey | Activity 2

This second teaser task was called "Scavenger Hunt." We watched Nanogirls video and she said that we had to find the materials around our home or our class.

First, I watched Nanogirl's video and she said to find the equipment she had in your house or in the classroom.

Afterwards, we went to go and find the materials Nanogirl had said. We only got got some of the materials and they were a plastic cup, a plastic spoon, a coca cola can, a tin, a thick box, a piece of paper, string, and tin foil.

I enjoyed this task because I liked exploring the class and finding stuff.

Commanding Conversations

Commanding conversations is a can-do when people practise writing their own conversations. We used this to practise how to use punctuation marks and using descriptive speech.

I wrote one conversation witch is about a mum telling her daughter to wear a mask.

Commanding conversation is a good way for me to practice how to write sentences with punctuation marks.

Comprehension

Comprehension strategies help people understand and learn more about what’s happening in the text or book.

Predicting and questioning can be used before reading, so people can guess what's going to happen next.

Prior knowledge and inferring can be used during reading. Prior knowledge is using your knowledge of the text to help predicting what's going to happen in the text.

Summarising and making connections can be used after reading so people can see if they understood the whole story.

Knowing how to use the comprehension strategies is important so people can use it during reading.

LI.to test grammar knowledge.

Coloring book

This week I completed my first activity for the summer learning Journey.

I first watched a video on what to do. Then I went on a website called art colouring book. The art colouring book was filled with amazing art like Christ the redeemed and more.

After that I downloaded my art and screen shot the original art. Then I did a google draw about my art. I wrote the artist's name which was Paul Landowski.

The best thing I did in this activity was colouring in the photo.

Fractions

Fractions are one whole thing divided into equal pieces.

Fractions have two parts, the numerator, and the denominator. The denominator tells the size of the fraction. The numerator shows how pieces there are.

An examples is two eights (2 / 8). The fractions size is eighths so, the denominator is eight. There are 2 pieces so the numerator is 2.
