Metaphor

An Metaphor is a word or phrase that is used to make a comparison between two things. 
Metaphors are a kind of figurative language.  

 For example the boy has ants in his pants. 
The main object is the boy. The comparison is the ants in his pants. And the meaning is the boy has ants in his pants.

 Another example was she has the heart of a Lion.  The main object is the girl. The comparison is the heart. And the meaning is the girl's brave.

Metaphors help describe things.

    Kia Ora Naki, I really like your metaphors. I'm not sure if you noticed this when you were writing your metaphors but plenty of metaphors are common sayings. For example, 'he has a heart of gold'. What do you think is the purpose of a metaphor?
